Ruby morgan circle |
friends supporting each other in lifeThe Ruby Morgan Circle is proud to bear the name of Ruby Morgan. Ruby Lovern Morgan was an active member of the Rockmart Methodist Church and the UMW since 1932 when she married George Morgan and moved to Rockmart. The Morgan family was one of the earliest families in the Rockmart Methodist Church. “Miss Ruby” held many offices in the Church and gave untiringly of her time and talents as Sunday School teacher, MYF leader, leader of the Patience Hubbard Circle for many years, and Treasurer of the UMW for over 20 years. She was admired for her capacity to work outside the home and raise a Christian family. She was a wonderful example of a homemaker, mother, wife, and Christian lady. The Ruby Morgan Circle developed “Miss Ruby’s” garden in the church courtyard in her memory after her death in 2003. We normally meet the 3rd Thursday evening of the month.

The Ruby Morgan Circle is blessed by our members and their continuing support pf local missions!
We set up and have been supporting clothes closet at Van Wert Elementary School since 2019 giving shoes, underwear, socks, pants and tops. The school has given us space to install shelves where we can set up a "store" for the kids to select their own outfits! We have taken down the summer clothes and replaced them with coats and other warm clothes in time for cooler weather. All are welcome to participate. This Christmas we put together community meal bags for a family of three and participated in the Angel Tree. And, as always, we participate in a number of mission opportunities throughout the year.
Call Betty Lumpkin (678-490-1023) for more information on these missions.
